Our Journey
The Ministry’s StrategicInitiatives
To amplify Bayelsa’s global appeal, the Ministry of Tourism Development has:
– Partnered with UNESCO to document and safeguard intangible cultural heritage, such as the Ijaw Epiphany oral poetry tradition.
– Launched the Bayelsa Hospitality Training Institute to equip youths with skills in tour guiding, catering, and eco-tourism management.
– Developed the Nembe-Brass Tourism Corridor, upgrading roads, jetties, and signage to key attractions.
– Hosted the annual Bayelsa Tourism Investment Summit to attract private-sector investments in resorts and adventure tourism.
